Meet: Shawn & Natalie
Our story begins as high school sweethearts, where we met when we were just 15 and 16 years old. Now happily married and living in the East Bay Area, together we laid plans for Acorn Films to bring an unforgettable wedding film experience that other married couples can share and relive for the rest of their lives. We love working together, and our combined talents make us the perfect husband and wife team.
Shawn’s passion for storytelling through film can be traced to the purchase of his first camcorder when he was 13 years old, shooting and editing through high school and college where he studied cinematography, to eventually turning the lens down the wedding aisle. Shawn is the “technical” guy on the team, making sure we have the best equipment for the shoots, that all audio is correctly being recorded, that moments are properly lit, and most important of all, Shawn does all the editing of the films. He is truly gifted at telling your story with all of its emotion and energy.
Natalie is the second cinematographer. She has an eye for all things beautiful, and works as Shawn’s muse. Having been a bride herself, she makes sure to capture all the shots a bride would want. Natalie will work closely with you prior to the wedding to assist you in planning out the day. She also has an amazing talent at finding the perfect songs to represent the feel of your wedding day that are used in the Short Film. Natalie loves to cook, and creates and photographs her recipes over on her food blog.
Their son Josh was born November 2015, and they love him to pieces. Their baby boy #2 is due in June 2018, and they can’t wait to become a family of four.
Much like a strong oak tree starts out as a small acorn, we see your wedding day as the beginnings of an enduring lifetime of love and happiness together. Our purpose at Acorn Films is to tell this story for you.
We feel there is no better day to remember than your wedding day, and no better way to capture it than on film. The happy tears, the sound of your voice as you say “I do,” the applause from your family members as you are pronounced husband and wife, the heartfelt words spoken by your loved ones during toasts, all should be cherished and remembered for a lifetime on your wedding film.
We would be honored to be a part of your special day.
